I'm Back, Baby - the Tale of A Mystical Estonia and A Standing Proclamation

Hello darling!

*Kisses both cheeks*

How are you? Haven't talked in such a long time. How's your mother? How'd the holidays go? Oh, mine went well, thank you for asking.

If you could please imagine that in a Long Island accent, that would be lovely. (Do it. Come on. Did you? It won't be funny if you don't! Go back and read the last few sentences with a Long Island accent!)

...Sorry. It seemed like a cute idea in my head.

Anyway, here I am again, in my bedroom, sat on my bed, at a time when I really should be sleeping, writing to you.

But because I don't want to make this post as long as a giraffe's scarf, here's what I'll do - I WILL MAKE A STANDING PROCLAMATION.

I will blog EVERY DAY for the rest of the week.

The two topics for this snowy Monday's post:

1) New Blog Design

I thought it would be good to start the year off with a new feel to the page. I love that the background is a photo that my mom took of the first time we were in Times Sq.

2) A quick recap of my time in Tallinn

-- in a word? AWESOME! (In some words crazy, weird, quirky and borderline illegal, but we're not going to mention that here, Vivian, your mom's colleagues read this blog...Hi mom (and perhaps colleague)!)

I just can't put it into words. So I won't. I made a collage.

I am so sorry for people who weren't included in the photos, just know you're all included in my heart (also we need to take more selfies together, I has LITERALLY nothing to work with).

My schedule was completely packed. I had slots for people starting from 9AM in the morning - I never fully got over my jetlag. So if I seemed a bit doolally during the time you saw me, I'm sorry. (Oh wait, that could just be me.)

Also a weird thing that happened for a few nights - I couldn't sleep, because it was too quiet. The roaring of taxis that drive past my house, the wind I hear rumbling behind my window and the heater in my room formed a uniformed noise, that ended up comforting me every single night here, like a lullaby. I guess I got used to the unusual melody.

See you tomorrow,

Thanks for reading!
